Our Ministries

What makes McGregor Road Baptist Church different than most other churches?

Our ministry is based on Colossians 2:8, “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” “Beware” is a warning that is telling you to perk up your senses. Why? So you are not carried away and held captive to false teachings. These false teachings are generally propagated through traditions of men and through the principles of the mainstream thought process of today. We at McGregor Road Baptist Church have decided to prove all things according to the Bible. We still call ourselves Baptist, not because we are like all the other Baptists, but because we hold to the Baptist Distinctives that the Baptist were once known for, as some still are. The number one Baptist Distinctive is “The Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice.” This distinctive is derived from 2 Peter 1:3, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” This means that we rely on the Bible to order each step of our lives and how the Church is to operate.

It’s when one begins to hold to man made traditions and teachings, which lack biblical support, that we are spoiled. We’ve all been spoiled in our life at one point or another. We expect to be spoiled by the businessman or a crook, but we’ve also been spoiled by religion. It’s our goal to seek a precise and correct knowledge from the Word of God, and live by it. We are not afraid of what we might find in the Bible, because we have already made the decision to follow it. 1 Thessalonians 5:21 tells us to “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” What are you using to prove what you what you hear? What are you holding fast to?

I suggest plugging into McGregor Road Baptist Church. Allow us to help you in your effort to prove all things by the Word of God
