{"id":2734,"date":"2019-08-06T09:05:47","date_gmt":"2019-08-06T13:05:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.actonschurch.com\/church\/?p=2734"},"modified":"2019-08-07T10:35:48","modified_gmt":"2019-08-07T14:35:48","slug":"pastors-weekly-update-8-6-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.actonschurch.com\/church\/pastors-weekly-update-8-6-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Pastor&#8217;s Weekly Update &#8211; 8\/6\/2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Praise the Lord for another blessed day at McGregor Road Baptist Church on Sunday!<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>We were blessed to have some first time visitors!<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2737\" src=\"https:\/\/www.actonschurch.com\/church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Thumbsupemoji-1-300x287.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"75\" height=\"72\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.actonschurch.com\/church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Thumbsupemoji-1-300x287.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.actonschurch.com\/church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Thumbsupemoji-1.jpg 580w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 75px) 100vw, 75px\" \/><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>We were blessed to see Patricia awarded for completing the New Life Discipleship course, led by Angie!&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2740\" src=\"https:\/\/www.actonschurch.com\/church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Clapping-hands-1-286x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"62\" height=\"64\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.actonschurch.com\/church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Clapping-hands-1-286x300.png 286w, https:\/\/www.actonschurch.com\/church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Clapping-hands-1.png 570w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 62px) 100vw, 62px\" \/><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>If you complete the &#8220;New Life&#8221; discipleship course by being led by a member of our church, we will award you with a Bible Dictionary to help you as you study the Word further.<\/li>\n<li>And, the one who does the discipleship will receive a gift card to Chick-fil-a!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>We were blessed to hear messages preached from the very Word of God!<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>If you missed a message, I encourage you to listen on line at &#8220;https:\/\/www.actonschurch.com\/church\/mrbc-audio\/recent-messages\/&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>We are Blessed to have a wonderful Church to be a part, of which your participation is appreciated and further encouraged!<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Monday Evening, we had our Monthly Men&#8217;s Meeting!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>We enjoyed a time of Pistol Competition!&nbsp;&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2741\" src=\"https:\/\/www.actonschurch.com\/church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/pistol.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\"><\/li>\n<li>After all the smoke was cleared, Doug came out on the top of our competition, and was awarded with a Cabela&#8217;s gift card!&nbsp; <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Great job Doug!!<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Scriptural Thought for the Day<\/h2>\n<p>Isaiah 40:28-31&nbsp; &#8220;Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. &nbsp;29&nbsp; He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. &nbsp;30&nbsp; Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: &nbsp;31&nbsp; But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.&#8221;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have you ever seen someone faint?&nbsp; Some people faint from excessive heat, or from exhaustion, or from being dehydrated.&nbsp; Some people faint from fear, or in a traumatic situation.&nbsp; No matter the reason, the result is the same.&nbsp; When we faint, we loose conscienceless, our muscles go limp, are ability to think and act is removed, and we fall to the ground.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>In our Christian lives, as the issues that surround us mount, sometime we grow weary.&nbsp; We are told in&nbsp;Galatians 6:9&nbsp; that it is even possible to grow wearing in well doing.&nbsp; &#8220;And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>How do we keep from growing weary and fainting in our Christian lives?\n<ul>\n<li>By waiting on the LORD, so that He can renew our strength, to the place that we will be able to mount up with wings as eagles, so we can run and not be weary and walk, and not be faint!\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;They that wait&#8221;, what does this mean?&nbsp; Strong&#8217;s Concordance defines this as, &#8220;to bind together with expectation.&#8221;\n<ul>\n<li>When we wait on the LORD, we search His Word for truth and the promises of God.&nbsp; And we when find them, we hold on to them tight, so that we can patiently endure our circumstances, knowing that God will perform His Word in our lives and help us get through in a victorious manner!&nbsp; In this hope and expectation, our strength will be renewed and we will keep from falling faint to the situations that surround us, and sometime cave in on us!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>I pray that you have a blessed day in the LORD!&nbsp;&nbsp;\n<ul>\n<li>Spend some time in His Word today!&nbsp; Grab hold of the Promises of God, and enjoy the ride!!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pastor Kaiser<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Praise the Lord for another blessed day at McGregor Road Baptist Church on Sunday!
